The other day I went to a business meeting. You know the kind where you meet business owners and you hand out your cards and network.

And there’s always that one question after I hand them my business card:  “Hmmm, Priority Errands. That’s interesting. So, what exactly do you do?”

The first answer that always pops into my mind is:  “A little bit of everything. I’m a ‘Handy-Woman’ for unpleasant tasks by offering you an extra pair of hands.”

When I got home I started thinking about that phrase.  Is that what I REALLY do?  Is that my business focus?

In a way, yes, it is what I do.  I run errands for people that don’t have time to do them.  I take care of tasks that people don’t want to do (like laundry, waiting in line for stamps or taking out the garbage!).

But, what do I PROVIDE for my clients?  What changes have I made in their life?

Often you have many home & work responsibilities that overlap. You are probably working longer hours & are asked to do a variety of jobs that maybe you have never done before.  Then there’s that personal to-do list that needs to get done after you’ve put in a full day of work.

How do you feel about those responsibilities?  Frustrated?  Alone?  Overworked?  Overwhelmed?   Sometimes, thinking about all we HAVE to do, makes us not what to do any of it at all.  What can you do?

How about turning to someone to help you out?  A professional?  Because you will get tasks done quickly without a lot of hassle.  You will have the ability to get more accomplished in a shorter amount of time.  You will MULTIPLY yourself without stress.  You will get rid of those jobs that you just don’t like doing.

How does that make you feel, when you get help from someone you trust?  Relieved? Relaxed?  Peaceful? Excited? Energized?

One of my clients once told me:  “Cheryl, you have no idea what a difference you have made on my family’s life.  We don’t argue anymore about chores not getting done.  They are finished when we get home from work and we are finally able to have dinner together, peacefully!”

Bingo!! That’s what Priority Errands is really all about: Giving busy families more peaceful time together.  Being the “key”  to reclaiming a personal/professional balance.  All in all that is my Life’s Purpose — my Focus.

Happy 2010!  Time seems to have flew right by me this last year.  I am hoping to connect with all of you in 2010 by providing some simple time-saving tips, tricks and services through this blog.  It’s time to kick it up a notch and provide you with the ideas you need to accomplish more while doing less!

What are your time challenges?

What do you like to do that you don’t have time to do?

I’d love to hear from you on your thoughts, your needs, what errands you would like to delegate or what little things you already to that make your life easier!
